Weekend Scenes: March 7th & 8th
This past weekend was our second weekend in London since the move. We were excited to put the busy week behind us and get back out exploring the city together. Saturday was the perfect day to do just that with gorgeous spring-like weather. Our first stop was Exmouth Market, right around the corner from us in our current neighborhood of Clerkenwell, to step into cute chops like In With The Old and grab a delicious brunch at Caravan.
With full bellies and the sunshine calling our name, we hopped on a bus up to Hamsptead Heath to really take it all in and enjoy the weather. The Heath is the perfect escape from the city and to surround yourself with nature. It has hills, paths, bridges, ponds, and it just beautiful.
Though it is a great place to escape the city buzz, it is also one of the best points to take in the city views. Once we reached the top, one of London's highest points, we reflected back on our new home and how much it will continue to grow in meaning to us as we form our new lives here.
At the end of the day, we returned home with mud on our boots and happy to check off another item on our list. We will definitely be returning the Heath as well as getting back up there to explore more of the town.
On Sunday, we woke up and realized we had been on the go since we got here. Either working, getting our life together here, or exploring London. While we want to be sure we make the most of our time here, we have just that—time. So we decided it was right day to just stay in bed late, read, and enjoy each others company. It was important for us to realize that we can't treat our years here like a constant vacation with things planned back to back. This is our home how and we need to enjoy it just as that as well. Later in the day though, we did venture out to the pub to participate in our first Sunday Roast. I have to say that it was so absolutely tasty and that will surely not be our last!
